Sigurd Lewerentz: Two Churches – Två kyrkor (Arkitektur Förlag AB, 1997) is a detailed analysis of Lewerentz’s acclaimed Markuskyrkan and S.t Petri kyrka. Essays by Claes Caldenby, Adam Caruso, and Sven Ivar Lind.

This book is a portrait of two churches with photographs and three essays. Two of them are newly written: Claes Caldenby sketches the essential features of the man and his work, while Adam Caruso presents a younger generations view of Lewerentz’s reduced architectural language. The third essay is a reprint of Sven Ivar Lind’s classic text from 1963, originally published in the Swedish magazine Arkitektur.

The book is bilingual in English and Swedish and lavishly illustrated with photographs and architectural drawings.

Our current copy is in good condition. The pages are clean, no markings except for the previous owner’s signature on the back of the front cover. There is some slight toning on their edges. The binding is fine; no signs of weakening. The covers show some gentle signs of exposure to sunlight, as well as some minor signs of shelf wear and use. Please note that our product photos are from our previous copy.
