Finnish Architecture Exhibition 1975 documents the works and themes presented in the Hague, the Netherlands, between 28 April and 19 May 1975. The catalogue used the same layout, typography, and printing films as those used for the Turin exhibition in 1973–1974. The book showcases the best Finnish architectural projects from the 1920s to the 1970s, as selected by the Museum of Finnish Architecture. The members of the exhibition jury were architects Veijo Martikainen, Eric Adlercreutz, Osmo Lappo, Juha Leiviskä, Kirmo Mikkola, Pentti Riihelä and Jussi Vepsäläinen, together with professor Leonardo Mosso, D.Eng. Matti Ollila and Sir James Maude Richards, a British architectural writer. The contents have been divided thematically into three sections: Functionalism (1929–1940), Modern Architecture (1951–1973) and Furniture by Alvar Aalto. The post-1950s projects also include a short description of their architectural principles.
The text is in English. The book is profusely illustrated with black-and-white photographs and architectural drawings such as plans, sections, and site layouts. The contents have been divided thematically into three sections: Functionalism (1929–1940), Modern Architecture (1951–1973) and Furniture by Alvar Aalto. The post-1950s projects also include a short description of their architectural principles.
Our current copy is in good condition. The pages are clean, no markings except for the previous owner’s signature on the first page. The glueing of the binding is fine. The covers show signs of use, edge wear, and shelf wear; the spine in particular is quite worn.
